Benefiting the Community
Following discussions with the Devon Wood Wind Farm Community
Liaison Forum a generous package of £3,500 per installed megawatt
has been guaranteed. The capacity of the development is up to
17.5MW so that would provide a fund of £61,250 per year for 25
years.
The Independent Devon Wood Wind Farm Community Liaison Forum
provides an opportunity for local residents and stakeholders to
present their opinions and give suggestions in relation to the
proposals and to consult on the range of community benefit
options.
If you have any ideas about the allocation of these funds please
contact Rev Richard Baxter, Independent Chairperson for the Devon
Wood Wind Farm Liaison Forum at richard-baxter@msn.com
Thanks to a partnership with Carnegie College up to 6 financial
support scholarships of £1,500 will be available over the period
January - August 2012 to help get young people from within
Kennoway, Kettle and Star community council areas into engineering
and renewable energy-based careers. West Coast Energy will also
offer Summer work placements or mentoring to the scholars. If you
qualify and are interested then you can contact Customer Services
at Carnegie College on 0844 248 0115 and quote the following
