The West Coast Group of Companies today received a Special
Achievement in GIS (SAG) Award at the 2011 Esri International User
Conference (Esri UC) in San Diego, California.
The honour recognises the UK company's vision and innovative use
of Esri's geographic information system (GIS) technology. The
firm's innovative approach made it stand out among more than
300,000 Esri users worldwide.
West Coast group of companies, which includes leading
independent wind developer West Coast Energy and specialist
Environmental Consultancy Atmos Consulting, has developed a
centralised database structure that enables it to make use of the
Esri software's superior functionality. Data is highly accessible
and enables the West Coast group of companies to produce
sophisticated renewable energy site feasibility studies,
optimisation proposals and on-going assessments across a range of
parameters from wind flow to noise levels.
Gerry Jewson, the company's CEO, is positive; "We have invested

be of potential interest to all of these sectors
