Following West Coast Energy's launch of Corse Hill Wind Farm on
the 28th of June, the company has today announced two
days of public exhibitions to allow all those in the area a chance
to see the proposed plans and speak to members of the West Coast
Energy team. The exhibitions will take place on the
19th and 20th of July, at the following
locations;
-
19th July, 2pm to 8pm: Auditorium, Esk Building, Angus
College, Arbroath, DD11 3EA
-
20th July, 10am to 4pm: Carnoustie Library, 21 High
Street, DD7 6AN
-
20th July, 6pm to 8pm: Arbirlot Church Hall, Arbirlot,
DD11 2NX
The proposed Corse Hill Wind Farm is located on farm land
south-east of the main A92. West Coast Energy proposes to
install 7 wind turbine generators, each up to 2.5 Megawatts (MW) in
capacity. The company are committed to the idea that local
communities should benefit financially from the generation of
renewable energy, and are therefore proposing a community turbine
as part of the wind farm development. The net revenue benefit
to the Community is expected to be significant over the 25 year
operational life of the wind farm and the company is currently
seeking local partner bodies to work with to facilitate the
delivery of this benefit should planning permission be granted in
due course by Angus Council.
The West Coast Energy team announced these proposals at the
launch event held at Angus College on 28th June and
welcomed the opportunity to meet with community representatives
surrounding the proposed development.
Samantha Crosby, Project Manager for the proposed Corse Hill
Wind Farm said:
"We are pleased to announce our public exhibitions for our
proposed wind farm at Corse Hill. We met with community
representatives in late June, and welcomed the opportunity to show
them our plans and hear their feedback. We would now like to
invite members of the public who would like to find out more about
both us as a company, and our proposals for Corse Hill, to attend
our exhibitions in July. This will provide an opportunity for
people to find out information on the proposals, and speak directly
to a member of the West Coast Energy team.
"West Coast Energy aim to deliver a small, high quality wind
farm development in Angus with a focus on community involvement.
As with all our wind farm developments, West Coast Energy
will be looking to create a purposeful and effective dialogue with
the local community at an early stage in the pre application
process in order that the community view is taken into account as
the proposals move forward to planning submission in the autumn of
this year. We look forward to meeting the local community on the
19th and 20th of July."
