West Coast Energy welcomes the industry study from RenewableUK
which outlines that despite the media hype on the congestion of
wind farms, the UK is actually lagging behind other European
Nations in wind energy.
Rob Tate Managing Director commented, 'We believe that the study
shows that the cumulative effect of wind turbines in the UK is not
in reality as bad as is portrayed by some newspapers, which are an
influential factor with regards to public perception. That
said, we are encouraged by the DECC poll which indicates more
positive attitudes towards living near to wind developments.'
It is clear that there is more scope for community-led
projects. This is why West Coast Energy has entered into a
partnership with frost-free, in order to help facilitate our
innovative approaches to community benefit packages. Rather
than simply offering a lump sum financial benefit, West Coast
Energy wants to explore the best approach for each individual
community in terms of what will work for them long-term.
