Renewable UK lays down plans for furthering the renewable revolution

Steve Salt West Coast Energy's Planning and Development Director attended the British Wind Energy Association's (BWEA) Parliamentary Reception on 26th January which this year took place at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers in London.

The BWEA, soon to be rebranded as Renewable UK, launched its pre election Manifesto at the reception which set out an ambitious policy agenda to deliver the renewables revolution. The reception was attended by major players in the renewable industry in the UK together with Members of Parliament from both houses and senior civil servants from the Department for Energy and Climate Change and the Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs.

At the reception, the Rt Hon Ed Miliband Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change spoke of the importance of the renewables industry to the transformation of the British economy to a low carbon sustainable economy and set out the challenges that lay ahead in the drive towards this goal.
