West Coast Energy has been
successful in obtaining planning permission for Carsington Pastures
Wind Farm, near Wirksworth, Derbyshire. This is the first wind farm
to be granted planning permission in Derbyshire, following a
planning inquiry in July.
Carsington Wind Energy Ltd, a
subsidiary company of West Coast Energy Ltd welcomed the decision
of the Planning Inspectorate to grant planning permission for its
four turbine wind farm development at Carsington Pastures in
Derbyshire.
With an anticipated installed
capacity of 10 Megawatts the wind farm will make an important
contribution to the East Midlands targets for electricity
production from renewable energy and to the Governments climate
change policy commitments.
Steve Salt, Planning Director for
West Coast Energy said:
"We are pleased that the inspector
has accepted that Carsington Pastures is an appropriate location
for Derbyshire's first wind farm."
"We are looking forward to
developing the project at the earliest opportunity and to working
with the local community to deliver the benefits of the
development"
