West Coast Energy submits application for Daviot Wind Farm to Highland Council

West Coast Energy is pleased to confirm it has submitted a planning application and environmental statement for a proposed thirteen turbine wind farm at Daviot, near Inverness to planning officials at Highland Council. The total installed capacity of the wind farm would be up to 32.5MW.


West Coast Energy proposes reduction to Devon Wood Wind Farm plans

Following ongoing dialogue with Council officials, West Coast Energy has submitted proposals to allow Fife Council to reduce its Devon Wood wind farm application. The moderated proposals would see West Coast Energy reduce its planned wind farm on the southern side of Clatto Hill in Devon Wood from seven turbines to five, with a reduction in height to 115m from 121m.

West Coast Energy submits amended plans for Cairnborrow Wind Farm to Aberdeenshire Council

Following extensive consultation with the local community and with planning officials at Aberdeenshire Council, West Coast Energy has formally revised its plans for the proposed wind farm at Cairnborrow. The redesign of its proposed ten turbine wind farm at Cairnborrow would see the removal of Turbine 7 from the scheme, reducing the number of turbines from ten to nine. This is the turbine at the most northerly part of the site on Black Hill, and closest to Ardonald.

West Coast Energy is pleased to announce that David Sawers, former Chief Executive of Angus Council, has been appointed as the Independent Chair for the Corse Hill Wind Farm Community Benefit Forum. Mr Sawers was appointed at the first official Forum meeting held on the 13th of December at Angus College. The meeting was attended by a broad range of community representatives including the Royal Burgh of Arbroath Community Council, Carnoustie Community Council, and other community representatives from the area.

Corse Hill Community Liaison Forum Moves to Elect Independent Chair

Following two scoping meetings with community representatives in the last two months, the communities surrounding the proposed site have decided to progress with plans to establish a Community Liaison Forum.
