Lee Williams, Coach & Treasurer to the Rugby Club, Sam Crosby of West Coast Energy, the assistant coach and of course the kids.

West Coast Energy recently sponsored polo shirts for the youth section of Flimby Rugby Club. The community fund would be in accordance with the Renewables Advisory Board/DTI 2007 report, 'Delivering Community Benefits from Wind Energy Development: A Toolkit. http://www.berr.gov.uk/files/file38710.pdf

The fund would be linked to the megawatt installed capacity of the project, at £2000 per MW. Based on an installed capacity of 7.5 MW (i.e. 3 x 2.5 MW turbines) this fund would provide some £15,000 each year and over £375,000 over the life of the wind farm. The fund would also be index linked for the lifetime of the wind farm.

Initial discussions have been held with the Flimby Village Partnership to see how the fund might be able to assist in the Community Hall initiative, and with the local community police officer, Steve Brown, to offer support for youth based initiatives.
